Southern Province Holds Third Quarter expanded Security Meeting
On March 30, 2026, the Southern Province headquarters hosted the third quarter expanded security meeting for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. The meeting focused on reviewing the state of security over the past three months, assessing how issues affecting citizens’ well‑being had been resolved, and evaluating preparations for the upcoming 32nd Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi (#Kwibuka32).
The meeting brought together all security organs from district to provincial level, as well as district leaders. It was chaired by the Executive Secretary of the Southern Province, NSHIMIYIMANA Védaste.
The Regional Police Commander for the Southern Province, ACP Désiré Twizere, presented an overview of the security situation during the last quarter. He outlined the challenges encountered, the measures taken to address them, and the progress made in maintaining peace and order.
In his remarks, Executive Secretary NSHIMIYIMANA Védaste
commended the security organs for their dedication and commitment to protecting citizens. He urged them to maintain that spirit of vigilance and continue prioritizing the safety of the population, especially as the country approaches the activities of Kwibuka32.
