1Permit for forest harvesting.Forestry and Natural Resources Officer
  • An application letter requesting a permit to harvest trees or a forest, addressed to the Mayor of the City of Kigali, with a copy to the Executive Secretary of the District where the forest is located.
  • The application can be submitted electronically (info@kigalicity.gov.rw); it is not necessary to visit the offices of the City of Kigali or the District.
  • Land ownership document for the forest in question
  • Copy of national ID
  • If the applicant purchased the trees or the forest, they must provide a sales agreement signed before a notary.

2Forestry Products Transportation PermitForestry and Natural Resources Officer
  • The letter requesting a permit to transport forest products is addressed to the Mayor of Kigali City, with a copy given to the Executive Secretary of the District where the products are located.
  • A copy of the harvesting permit
  • A copy of the purchase agreement if the permit is for products that were bought
  • A copy of the national ID
The person granted the permit pays a fee of 1,000 francs per ton."7 days
