KANYINYA CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

Hon. Kalisa Jean Sauveur joined young people in Kanyinya Sector on August 12, 2026, to celebrate International Youth Day. The event was held at Nyarugenge District level.

Hon. Kalisa Jean Sauveur urged young people to exercise caution and make decisions that contribute to building a better future, while avoiding temptations and behaviors that may distract them from their goals.

He said: “Learn to say No to anything that can harm your life, because saying No to such things means saying Yes to a healthy life and a better future.”

He reminded the youth that they are a vital force for the country and that the choices they make today play an important role in shaping their future lives and development. He encouraged them to use their energy and abilities in productive activities that contribute to their personal and community development, rather than engaging in activities that harm their health and well-being.

Among other things, the youth were urged to avoid drug abuse, alcoholism, and sexual promiscuity. He emphasized that avoiding such behaviors is essential to protecting their health and ensuring a brighter future.

The celebration of International Youth Day in Kanyinya Sector provided an opportunity to encourage young people to take the lead in building a healthy and prosperous future for themselves.

International Youth Day is celebrated every year on August 12 as an opportunity to highlight the contribution of young people to development and encourage them to play an active role in addressing challenges facing society.
